A third grade teacher at Owensboro’s Newton Parrish Elementary School has been awarded Kentucky’s 2022 Milken Educator Award. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
Officials say Charlotte Buskill brings out the best in everyone in her classroom.
They say students are enchanted as Buskill’s classroom transforms into “exciting worlds that match the books they are reading.”
The award comes with a prize of $25,000 and an all-expenses-paid trip to the Milken Educator Awards Forum in Los Angeles in April.
Buskill is among up to 40 elementary teachers across the nation receiving the Milken Educator Award this school year, and the second recipient from Owensboro Public Schools in the history of the award.
