COVID-19 deaths and infections are up in western Kentucky. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
The Green River District Health Department counted four COVID-related deaths and more than 200 new infections in its seven-county district in the past week.
Three of the deaths were from Daviess (Davis) County. The fourth was from McLean County.
Three weeks ago, the district was averaging 20 new infections a day. In the past week, the average was up to about 31 a day.
The department urges all residents to stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and boosters, get vaccinated for the flu, stay home if you are sick, and get tested if you have symptoms.
Officials say if you have symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19, wear a mask.
