Another Residence Hall Planned for UE

UE

Lincoln Commons will be built near Lincoln and Weinbach

The University of Evansville is planning more student housing. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

UE says the Lincoln Commons apartments will be built at the corner of Weinbach and Lincoln avenues.

Officials say the four-story building will house up to 123 upperclassman with a mix of one, two, and four-bedroom apartments.

The first level will feature 3,500 square feet of retail space that includes an outdoor patio, and each apartment will include a full kitchen and furniture.

UE says several buildings on campus will be demolished to make room for the new student housing, including the University Apartments, Ramona Apartments, one of the Hazeart Apartment buildings, and a former fraternity house that’s already relocated.

A parking lot for Lincoln Commons will also be developed across the street, south of Lincoln Avenue.

Construction is set to begin in late February 2023 and wrap up in time for the fall 2024 semester.
