USI Sells New Harmony Properties, Allows Beer at Basketball Games

File

Board of Trustees took actions on Thursday

The University of Southern Indiana is selling some of its properties in New Harmony and allowing beer at its basketball games. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

The USI Board of Trustees approved the sale of what it calls three surplus New Harmony properties: The Theater Barn, Keppler House, and Bentel Hop House were sold.

Officials say the goal is to find better ways for the properties to be used to benefit the community of New Harmony.

The trustees also approved a pilot program to offer the sale of beer at Screaming Eagles Arena for Men’s and Women’s Basketball games.

Beer sales will begin at the home opening weekend of Division I games Friday, November 11th and Sunday, November 13th.

USI says the move is aimed at “enhancing the fan experience.”

Athletic Director Jon Mark Hall says they looked around at what other institutions in the Ohio Valley Conference were doing, as well as the Ford Center and other Indiana Schools.
