Boy Found Inside Suitcase Identified, One Suspect Arrested

File

Boy's mother still at large, wanted for murder

Indiana State Police have identified a boy found dead inside a suitcase. And as WNIN’s John Gibson reports, officers have arrested one of two suspects:

A mushroom hunter found the suitcase in rural Washington County back in April.

The ISP said the deceased boy inside the case was later identified as five-year-old Cairo Ammar Jordan of Atlanta. He would have turned six this week.

Police say they used advanced technologies available only through federal and outside agencies to investigate the boy’s death.

The probe led to the Washington County Circuit Court issuing felony arrest warrants for 40-year-old Dawn Elaine Coleman of Shreveport, Louisiana and 37-year-old Dejaune Ludie Anderson of Atlanta.

Anderson was determined to be the biological mother of the deceased child.

The ISP arrested Coleman in San Francisco on charges of Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Death and Obstruction of Justice.

Detectives traveled to the Los Angeles area to look for Anderson but did not find her.

She’s still at large and wanted on a murder charge.
