Two Evansville brothers have won the Fall Festival’s half-pot. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
Officials say the winners of half of the Nut Club’s $1.63 million jackpot wish to remain anonymous.
But they were described as hard-working everyday folks who have been “blessed” and are “able to retire.”
Officials say the brothers have attended the festival for more than 45 years and have worked in several of the food booths that line W. Franklin St. during the festival.
They bought the winning tickets at the fest Wednesday afternoon, October 5th, the same day they bought a funnel cake.
The Nut Club uses its half of the jackpot to pay for festival expenses and to distribute to non-profits.
