The 101st Nut Club Fall Festival gets underway with Family Day Sunday afternoon, before starting in earnest on Monday. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:
More than 130 not-for-profit food booths will be lined up along W. Franklin St., offering everything from pronto pups, sausage sliders, and chicken and dumplings to elephant ears, funnel cakes, and deep-fried Snickers.
If you look hard enough, you can also find some healthier options.
The festival is a major fundraiser for the not-for-profit groups.
The Nut Club also donates festival proceeds to schools, athletic programs, and other non-profits.
Other festival attractions include carnival rides, games, talent contests, parades, and a very popular half-pot drawing.
