This last full day of summer is very summer-like, but the change of seasons will usher in a big change in temperatures. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
Evansville tied its record high on Tuesday with 95 degrees.
The mercury is expected to top out in the upper 90’s to near 100, with heat index values above the century mark Wednesday afternoon.
But an approaching cold front will bring a chance of thunderstorms and relief from the heat Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
Fall officially arrives just after 8:00 Thursday evening.
And right on cue, the autumnal equinox is expected to usher in by a very cool night – down to about 50 degrees by Friday morning.
