A longtime forensic pathologist who served as Vanderburgh County Health Officer has died. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office says Dr. John Heidingsfelder served the community for more than 30 years.
Heidingsfelder died of an apparent heart attack Monday at an Owensboro hospital.
He was injured in car crash in January.
Coroner Steve Lockyear says Heidingsfelder’s ability to explain injuries, disease, and manners of death to families, law enforcement, and juries will “never be equaled.”
He was 83.
