Concern About Gun Cancels Classes at Castle

File

Decision at Warrick County school made out of "abundance of caution"

Officials closed Castle High School Friday “out of an abundance of caution.” WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

In a message to parents and students, administrators say they learned Thursday evening of the possibility that a gun was brought into the school multiple times this week and that the weapon may still be in the school.

Warrick County Sheriff’s Deputies and school administrators searched the school and didn’t find a gun. But due to the uncertainty of the location of the weapon, as well as an abundance of caution, officials decided to close Castle High School Friday.

Castle Principal Jim Hood said the School Corporation will update families as more information becomes available.
