Trees, Limbs Piling Up at Drop-Off Site

The site off Boeke Road will stay open until at least this Friday

Nearly a week after a severe storm knocked down trees, limbs, and power lines in the Evansville area, a mound of limbs is growing near the former Roberts Stadium site. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

A steady stream of residents and property owners who had trees and limbs knocked down during last Monday’s storm have been dropping them off at the site next to Swonder Ice arena, off Boeke Road.

The result is a huge mound of tree trunks, limbs, and branches.

The city of Evansville says residents can continue to drop off the storm debris through this Friday.

The city says the service may be extended beyond Friday, depending on volume.

The city stresses only trees and tree limbs can be dropped off. A police surveillance vehicle is onsite, making sure no one illegally dumps trash.

Contractors are also prohibited from dropping off debris.
