CenterPoint Energy is seeking state approval to acquire a 130-megawatt solar array. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
CenterPoint says it has entered into an agreement with Invenergy who will construct the project in Pike County.
CenterPoint says it represents the third round of solar agreements in southern Indiana.
The company was previously granted approval to build a solar array in Posey County now sized at 200 megawatts, as well as power purchase agreements totaling more than 400 megawatts in Warrick, Knox and Vermillion Counties.
CenterPoint has received harsh criticism for skyrocketing utility bills and its planned development of a natural gas plant in Posey County that’s expected to see limited use.
