The Tri-State faces a risk of strong storms Friday afternoon and night. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
Forecasters say storms could reach severe levels with damaging winds.
They say heavy rain and frequent lightning will accompany the strongest storms ahead of a cold front.
The Excessive Heat Warning has been canceled for most of the area.
The weather service says a few isolated thunderstorms may linger into Saturday, mainly in western Kentucky.
High temperatures are expected to stay below 90 through the weekend.
Showers and thunderstorms are back in the forecast Tuesday and Wednesday.
