The Hadi ShrinersFest is getting underway on Evansville’s riverfront. WNIN's Sarah Kuper has a preview:
ShrinersFest is a community favorite for its appeal to all ages - from kids’ attractions like rows of firetrucks to explore - to live music and a beer garden for adults.
The festival starts Friday morning with food booths and vendors. First responders and other civic partners will be on hand Friday night as part of Community night. It's also bike night.
Saturday is the car show with registration at 9am and awards at 3pm. The festival wraps up with live music playing until 11.
The annual Shriner's Fest takes place at the organization's headquarters on Walnut and Riverside drive.
The downtown festival is the Shriner's largest local fundraiser.
Attendees can buy halfpot tickets from booths at the event. The halfpot drawing will be July 11th. Last year's winner collected just over $100,000.
