File

The playscape addition opens June 28

Wesselman Woods will celebrate the opening of a new nature-based play area with a week of free hiking. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

A ribbon cutting celebrating the newest addition to the Welborn Baptist Foundation Nature Playscape is set for Tuesday, June 28th.

It will be followed by free hiking through Sunday, July 3rd.

Wesselman Woods touts itself as America’s largest urban, old-growth forest.

It offers four miles of trails on the 200-acre nature preserve.

The two acres of new nature-based play features and pathways were created by architect Adam Green and Wilde Horticulture.
