Pickleball Facility Planned for Wesselman Park

File

The Parks Board is expected to take action Wednesday

The City of Evansville plans to develop a Pickleball facility at Wesselman Park. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The city’s Department of Parks and Recreation says Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the U.S.

Interim Parks Director Steve Schaefer says it combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong.

Schaefer and the Evansville Pickleball Outdoor Courts Committee – or EPOC -- have been meeting for months to ensure a future for the sport in Evansville.

The Parks Board is expected to consider plans for the Wesselman Park facility during its meeting Wednesday.
