The move follows a painful 6-and-24 season

The University of Evansville is looking for a new men’s basketball coach. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

In an email, UE’s new Athletic Director Kenneth Siegfried said the university was parting ways with head coach Todd Lickliter and his staff.

Lickliter served as assistant coach under Walter McCarty and took the top job when McCarty was fired in January 2020.

Siegfried praised Lickliter and his staff for navigating the many changes and hurdles brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Siegfried said Lickliter exemplified “the key components and purpose of being a Purple Ace” and he wished him “nothing but the best.”

Siegfried said UE will immediately begin searching for its next men’s basketball coach.

The Aces struggled with a record of 6-and-24 in the 2021-22 season.
