Coalition: Keep Up COVID, Flu Precautions

CDC

Area health officials note rise in ill patients

A coalition of Evansville area health care providers is urging continued precautions against COVID-19 and the flu. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

Leaders of the Community Patient Safety Coalition says regional hospitals and healthcare facilities are seeing increased numbers of ill and hospitalized patients due to both COVID-19 and influenza.

The coalition urges visitors to confirm a facility’s visitation guidelines by checking the organization’s website or calling ahead.

Coalition leaders encourage the community to stay up-to-date with vaccinations, wearing a mask when appropriate, and being mindful of crowds.

Healthcare facilities continue to require masking for patients, visitors and staff in most settings.

The coalition says it supports visitation for the well-being of patients, visitors, and staff.
