CAJE to Rally Before Nehemiah Action

File

Monday night rally will focus on housing, mental health, and energy bills

Congregations Acting for Justice and Empowerment will hold its 19th annual rally tonight (Mon) to raise awareness of community problems. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:

The rally at All Saints Catholic Church – formerly St. Anthony Church at First Avenue and Columbia – comes a month before CAJE conducts its annual Nehemiah Action.

The group is calling for action on three issues: affordable housing, mental health care, and what it calls skyrocketing CenterPoint Energy bills.

CAJE says the rally is meant to energize and educate its grassroots members who represent 27 faith communities in southwest Indiana.

It begins at 6:30 Mondat evening.

Residents impacted by the community problems, CAJE member congregations, and members of the Energy for All Coalition are all invited to the rally.
