Local Ukrainian Church Raising Money for War-Torn Homeland

Grace of Christ Church

Grace of Christ Church to sell Ukrainian foods

A Ukrainian church in Evansville is hosting a fundraiser Saturday to help family and church members in war-torn Ukraine. WNIN’s Sarah Kuper has more on the event:

Members of Grace of Christ Church in Evansville get regular updates from family still in Ukraine and church volunteers working in hard hit places like Kharkiv. Congregants share photos and information via their Facebook pages and now they will share a taste of their home country during a fundraiser Saturday April 2nd.

Located at 1014 S. Harlan Avenue near Washington Avenue and Highway 41, the Grace of Christ church will serve traditional dishes like borsch, cabbage rolls, pastries and plov – a rice and meat dish.

Organizers say that funds raised will help volunteers in the Kharkiv region to supply food and medicine plus pay for gas in order to distribute the goods.

The church will also be holding a special prayer meeting on Sunday at 4pm. All are welcome.

For more information on the church and how they are helping in Ukraine, visit graceofchrist.net or find Grace of Christ Evansville on Facebook.
