The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library earned two top awards at this year’s Leadership Everyone’s Celebration of Leadership. WNIN’s Sarah Kuper has more on the honors:
The Celebration of Leadership highlights community members and institutions that work to better Evansville. After a nomination and evaluation process, winners in several categories were named on March 30th.
EVPL came away a winner in two categories. The Library’s work with the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation on a free online tutoring program won the Project or Program Award in Education.
The competitive Regional Collaboration Award went to the library for its partnership with Legacy Taste of the Garden and Urban Seeds. Together the groups started the Book N’ Cook program. It teaches children ages eight through ten to prepare a recipe while connecting them to the local food system.
The entire Celebration of Leadership program will re-air on WNIN this Sunday at 5pm.
