Ralph Named Kiwanis Firefighter of the Year

23-year veteran of the EFD won a ring and other prizes

A man who has served on the Evansville Fire Department for 23 years has been named firefighter of the year. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The Green River Kiwanis Club bestowed the 2021 award to Firefighter Robert Ralph.

He works at Station 14 on Willow Road, near Lincoln Avenue.

Ralph received a wall plaque from Kiwanis , a $100 Check from “On the Spot” Utility Resources, an evening out from Evansville Firefighters Credit Union, and a Firefighter of the Year Ring from Firefighters Local 357.

EFD Division Chief Mike Larson said the Green River Kiwanis will also erect a billboard with Ralph’s picture.

The other nominee was Jarrod Brown.

Ralph is the 40th recipient of the annual award.
