City Reminds Residents to Put Trash and Yard Waste in Bags

EWSU

EWSU says there's too much loose trash on the streets

Evansville Water and Sewer Utility officials are reminding customers of some trash removal requirements. WNIN’s Sarah Kuper has more:

“Always bag it before you trash it” – that’s what EWSU officials are reminding customers after noticing an ongoing problem with trash removal.

In social media posts showing photos of loose trash in the street and bulk items obscuring sidewalks, EWSU officials are reminding customers of these basics and newer trash disposal options.

All trash and yard waste must be bagged. Officials say loose trash that may tip over into the street causes sanitation hazards. They also want to remind customers of a new method to dispose of bulk items like mattresses or old furniture. Beginning this year – customers can schedule a pick up for large items any time of the year. The website is ewsu.com.
