Two University of Southern Indiana student groups are coming together to bring the community an opportunity to get to know their state government leaders. WNIN’s Sarah Kuper has more:
While Vanderburgh County residents vote to elect their representation in the Indiana House and Senate, many times the involvement in the process ends there.
But Thursday March 17th, the University of Southern Indiana’s college republicans and college democrats are giving residents the opportunity to hear from the four representatives and two senators that represent Vanderburgh County.
At the Vanderburgh County Representative Forum, Senators Vaneta Becker and Jim Tomes plus Representatives Matt Hostettler, Wendy McNamara, Tim O’Brien and the lone Democrat of the group Ryan Hatfield will talk with attendees about area issues and what is happening at the state government level.
The event begins at 6pm in Carter Hall on USI’s campus. It is free to the public.
