More daily flights at Evansville Regional Airport have been put on hold. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
Multiple news media outlets report Evansville's daily connections with Detroit via Delta Airlines have been paused, and it's not known when they’ll return.
The decision by Delta follows American Airlines putting its flights between Evansville and Chicago on hold due to staff shortages.
The loss of the Chicago and Detroit flights means EVV's only nonstop daily connections – at least for now -- are with Atlanta, Charlotte, and Dallas.
EVV offers nondaily flights to Orlando and seasonal flights to Destin, Florida.
Officials hope the Chicago and Detroit flights resume soon.
Many airlines have dropped flights due to the pandemic, pilot shortages, and production delays of new aircraft.
