A historic restaurant in Gibson County is on the market. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:
The owners of the Log Inn are ready to sell the landmark on Warrenton Road for $3 million.
The property is listed on the FC Tucker Commercial website.
The original section of the restaurant was built in 1825 and by the 1840’s, it was a busy stagecoach stop between Evansville and Vincennes.
As the story goes, Abraham Lincoln visited the inn during November of 1844.
The future president was returning to Illinois from an Evansville campaign stop for Henry Clay, who was running for president as a member of the Whig Party.
FC Tucker calls the listing “the opportunity of a lifetime.”
The $3 million price tag includes all existing furniture, fixtures and equipment as well as the Real Estate.
It also includes the Log Inn’s 3-way liquor license.
