Vanderburgh's positivity rate falls below 14 percent

Four more COVID-19 deaths are reported in southwest Indiana, as new infections and hospitalizations continue to fall. WNIN’s John Gibson has the latest:

The Indiana Department of Health announced two new fatalities in Vanderburgh County, one in Warrick County, one in Posey County, and one in Gibson County.

Vanderburgh’s pandemic death toll reached 580 on the Wednesday dashboard.

In more positive news, just 44 infections were added in Vanderburgh, 14 in Warrick, ten in Gibson, and only two in Posey County.

Vanderburgh County’s seven-day positivity rate dropped below 14 percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients across the 12-county region of southwest Indiana fell to 124. That’s down from nearly 300 patients a month ago.

Statewide, the department recorded 63 more COVID-related deaths and just over 900 new infections.
