Seven more COVID-19 deaths and more than 300 new infections have been counted in western Kentucky. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
The Green River District Health Department announced five more COVID-related deaths in Daviess County, one in Henderson County, and one in Ohio County.
Daviess County’s pandemic death toll reached 360.
The number of new infections continued to decline across the seven-county district, with 331 recorded between Tuesday and Thursday.
The department says the daily average of new cases in the district fell to 124.
Daviess County’s percentage of vaccinated residents has topped 59 percent, while Henderson’s percentage is approaching 58 percent.
Hancock County has the district’s highest percentage of vaccinated residents at almost two-thirds. Ohio County has the lowest at just below 44 percent.
