Vanderburgh COVID Death Toll Rises by 1, Infections Trending Lower

County's positivity rate has dropped to about 17%

Another COVID-19 related death has been recorded in Vanderburgh County. WNIN’s John Gibson has the latest:

The Indiana Department of Health announced the county’s 573rd fatality of the pandemic on the Thursday dashboard.

New infections continued to trend lower with 66 in Vanderburgh, 19 in Warrick, nine in Posey, and just seven in Gibson County.

No new COVID-related deaths were added in Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties.

Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate improved to about 17 percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients across the 12-county region of southwest Indiana fell by six to 176.

Statewide, the pandemic claimed another 45 lives, and infected nearly 1,500 Hoosiers.
