3 More COVID Deaths, 500+ New Infections in Western KY

File

The numbers are trending lower

Three more COVID 19-related deaths and more than 500 new infections have been counted in western Kentucky. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

Overall, the numbers are trending lower but that’s little comfort to the families of the three latest victims in the Green River District.

The health department tallied one COVID-related fatality in Daviess County, one in Hancock County, and another in McLean County.

The agency also recorded 534 new cases in the seven-county district between Friday and Monday.

The district’s daily average of new infections fell below 200 to about 190.

The data shows Hancock County has the highest percentage of fully vaccinated residents, at about 66 percent.

Union and Ohio counties are both below 50 percent vaccinated.
