Forecasters are warning of rain, ice, and snow in the Tri-State this week. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The National Weather Service has already issued a Winter Storm Watch for much of southern Illinois. It’s in effect from Wednesday night through Thursday night.
Forecasters are warning of significant ice accumulations and minor amounts of snow in the watch area.
It was not clear how much wintry precipitation may fall in the immediate Evansville area, but rain is likely Wednesday and Wednesday night – and it’s forecast to change to freezing rain and sleet on Thursday.
Meteorologist Christine Wiegler (WEEG-ler) told the news media on Monday that the location and impacts of ice accumulations will likely vary in time:

Regardless, forecasters say now is a good time to make sure your home and your vehicle are prepared for wintry weather.
