Man on Supervised Release Convicted of Drug Charges

File

Roach could face an enhanced prison sentence

A jury has convicted an Evansville man of felony drug dealing. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

The jury convicted 45-year-old Demarco Roach Tuesday afternoon.

In a release, the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor’s Office said Roach was found guilty in connection with a traffic stop by the local Drug Task Force in May of 2021.

Roach was convicted of Dealing in Methamphetamine, Operating a Vehicle as a Habitual Traffic Violator, and Possession of a Narcotic Drug.

Officers said they found numerous baggies that tested positive for methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and digital scales in Roach’s vehicle.

At the time of his arrest, Roach had been released from federal prison and was on supervised release.

Roach still faces a possible Habitual Offender Sentencing Enhancement. A hearing on that is set for Thursday.
