COVID Cases Soar By More Than 500 in Vanderburgh County

No new deaths were recorded despite the huge increase

More than 500 new COVID-19 infections have been recorded in a single day in Vanderburgh County. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

The Indiana Department of Health added 542 infections in the county on its Wednesday dashboard.

184 cases were added in Warrick, 85 in Gibson, and 61 in Posey County.

No new COVID-related deaths were recorded in the counties.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county region of southwest Indiana rose to 210, with about 21 percent of intensive care beds available.

Across Indiana, the agency recorded 39 new COVID-related deaths and nearly 13,000 new infections.
