Just before 6:30 Saturday evening, Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s deputies pulled over a silver SUV for speeding near Covert and Frederick Avenue.

After stopping the vehicle and talking with the driver, 42 year old Shawn Marie Stehlik and passenger 34 year old Cody Allen Clark, deputies realized Stehlik was driving with a suspended license and Clark had given them a fake ID.

Meanwhile, a narcotics-sniffing K-9 alerted deputies to the presence of illegal drugs. Deputies searched the vehicle and found:

21 grams of methamphetamine

2 grams of fentanyl

Drug paraphernalia including a scale and syringes

Plus a loaded semi-automatic hand gun and nearly $2,000 in cash

Stehlik and Clark were booked in to the Vanderburgh County Jail and are charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors.
