The Evansville Convention and Visitors Board has chosen a new tourism leader. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
After a nationwide search, the board went with Alexis Berggren of Evansville as new President and CEO of Visit Evansville.
Berggren’s experience includes managing Evansville’s Old National Events Plaza for nearly five years.
In a release, she committed to using her skills, experience, and abilities to grow the region for the population, clients, and for her family.
Visit Evansville Commission President Joe Kiefer II said he was “encouraged” with the local hire.
He said Berggren has served on the Commission for many years and her experience, leadership, and tenure in the industry are “exemplary.”
Berggren replaces current director Jim Wood, who is leaving in January after two years on the job and during a challenging pandemic.
