A Newburgh-based bridge and highway contractor will help build the first section of the Ohio River Crossing project in Henderson. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet awarded the contract to Ragle Incorporated.
The cabinet also selected Canada-based Stantec Consulting for the project.
Section 1 focuses on improvements in Henderson from U.S 60 to State Road 425.
The work is expected to start next year and continue through 2025.
Section 2 will include the construction of a new four-lane bridge connecting Henderson and Evansville.
Design work for that huge project is expected to begin in 2025, with construction starting in 2027 and finishing in 2031.
In a release, project spokeswoman Mindy Peterson says both states will “continue to look for opportunities to accelerate that timeline.”
