Nine new COVID-19 related deaths and hundreds of new infections are reported in western Kentucky. WNIN’S John Gibson has details:
The Green River District Health Department says six of the new fatalities were in Daviess County, with one new death in Union County, another in Webster County, and one in McLean County.
The agency also counted 462 new infections in the seven-county district from Friday to Monday.
The district’s seven-day average for new infections rose to 131 a day.
District Health Director Clay Horton urges Kentuckians to get vaccinated or boosted.

Kentucky’s first confirmed case of the omicron variant was reported last weekend.
