An assistant professor of theater at the University of Evansville has won a national award.
Amelia McClain is the recipient of the University Resident Theatre Association’s 2021 Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Training in Acting.
McClain is currently on leave from UE. She’s on Broadway, cast in Aaron Sorkin's interpretation of "To Kill a Mockingbird."
In a release, UE said McClain has been a faculty member since 2018.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the university before earning her Master of Fine Arts at NYU.
McClain has also performed in Broadway productions including "The Play That Goes Wrong," "Noises Off", and "The Heidi Chronicles."
