A Stormy Night: Heavy Rain, High Winds Hit Tri-State

CREDIT FILE

Thunderstorms with heavy rain and high winds rolled through the Tri-State overnight.

The storms dropped more than an inch of rain at Evansville Regional Airport.

The combination of heavy rain and wet leaves clogged storm sewers and left standing water at many intersections.

Data from the National Weather Service show winds gusted as high as 35 miles an hour Monday morning.

Stronger storms were reported in western Kentucky.

The weather service issued a Tornado Warning for Todd and Logan counties at about 4:30 a.m.

The storms have ushered in colder weather, with temperatures forecast to fall into the 20’s Monday night.

Snow flurries are in the forecast Tuesday night.
