5 New COVID Deaths in Southwestern Indiana

Five more COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded in southwest Indiana.

The Indiana Department of Health added one fatality in Vanderburgh County, one in Warrick County, two in Dubois County, and one in Spencer County.

Vanderburgh is nearing 500 total deaths.

The agency also recorded 66 new infections in Vanderburgh, 49 in Warrick, and 43 in Dubois County.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county region of southwest Indiana rose to 148, with just over a third of intensive care beds available.

Across Indiana, the pandemic death toll rose by 93, with more than 4,200 new infections.
