Princeton man dies after officer-involved shooting

Indiana State Police troopers shot a Princeton man to death in Vincennes.

A news release from state police said it happened just before 9:00 Tuesday night on the parking lot of a Chuckles convenience store at 1744 Old Decker Road in Vincennes.

Sgt. Todd Ringle said troopers were looking for 35-year-old David Zimmerman of Princeton, who was wanted for a parole violation.

Troopers spotted the man driving a pickup truck onto the parking lot of the convenience store.

First snow closes schools, snarls traffic

The first snow of the season closed schools and led to numerous traffic crashes in the Evansville area.

Light snow moved into the Tri-State early Wednesday with temperatures well below freezing, so everything that fell stuck to area roads and bridges – except for some that were pre-treated on Tuesday.  

Evansville Police Sgt. Jason Cullum says officers responded to at least two dozen accidents during the morning drive.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Todd Ringle reported at least a dozen crashes.

Bank robbed, suspect quickly arrested

Indiana State Police have apprehended a suspect in a bank robbery in northern Vanderburgh County.

It happened at about 1:15 Tuesday afternoon at the Heritage Federal Credit Union at Highway 41 and Boonville-New Harmony Road.

Dispatchers say the robber displayed a handgun, demanded money, and put cash in a cooler. They described him as “well-disguised.”
