West Side boil advisory lifted

Officials say it’s safe to drink the water on Evansville’s West Side.

The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility has lifted the boil advisory issued after a water main break last weekend.

The break occurred on Upper Mt.Vernon Road near Tekoppel Avenue and resulted in an advisory that covered much of the West and Northwest sides.

The utility says test results of samples collected from the affected area revealed no evidence of contamination.

In a news release, the utility says it appreciates the cooperation and understanding of its customers throughout the incident.

The release says – quote – “the safeguarding of the health of our customers will remain our number one priority.”
