Vectren restoring power after storms

The Tri-State is recovering from heavy rain and high winds.

As the sun rose Friday, Vectren reported nearly 900 customers were still without electricity in southwest Indiana.

About 125 customers were still in the dark in Evansville.

Crews continued to restore power, and the number of Vectren customers without electricity had dropped to fewer than 250 by midday.

High winds brought down tree limbs and power lines across the Tri-State on Thursday.

Heavy rain caused isolated flooding.

The National Weather Service recorded more than an inch-and-a-half of rain at Evansville Regional Airport.

Forecasters are calling for just slight chances of more showers and thunderstorms Friday.

They say a better chance for storms is Saturday night -- ahead of cooler, less humid air on Sunday and Monday.
