St. Mary's breaks ground for West Side facility

Ground has been broken – and blessed - for a $10 million medical complex on Evansville’s West Side.

The planned St. Mary’s Westside Crossing will be built off Rosenberger, north of the Lloyd, on the site of a former car dealership.

Executive Vice President Gwen Sandefur says the two-story 27,000 square-foot complex will be similar to St. Mary’s Epworth Crossing on the East Side. She says it will provide more services than a nearby Convenient Care facility, including eight physicians practicing family, pediatric, and internal medicine.

Sandefur says the Convenient Care staff will move into the new complex. She says it will even offer a bistro and some retail.

Construction is expected to take about one year.
