Siegel's moving out of downtown after more than a century

It’s the end of an era in Downtown Evansville, where a business is moving to the city’s East Side after more than a century downtown.

Siegel's Uniforms has long been a fixture on 4th Street, but General Manager Matt Baumeyer tells WNIN that the business is moving to a larger location with more parking: the former Kid’s Room furniture store on N. Congress Avenue.

Baumeyer says investors have plans for the old Siegel’s building, including a restaurant, loft apartments, and possible retail.

Baumeyer says he and other Siegel's employees look forward to visiting the renovated building.

Siegel's will stay open Downtown through July, and move to its new location in August.
