Severe storms possible Tuesday

Strong thunderstorms are expected in the Tri-State today. WNIN’s John Gibson reports…

Forecasters are watching an approaching system that may produce severe storms Tuesday.

The National Weather Service Office in Paducah says storms are expected to develop at about noon and quickly spread across southern Illinois, western Kentucky, and southwest Indiana between noon and 7 p.m.

Forecasters say the storms may produce damaging wind gusts, and a few storms may strengthen enough to produce brief tornadoes.

The weather service says trained weather spotters may be activated Tuesday afternoon and evening.
