Possible break in BB gun vandalism

There may have a break in the case of recent BB gun vandalism in Evansville.

In a news release, the EPD says investigators have spoken with a 19 year old who may have been involved in the vandalism spree.

Over the past week, officers have taken more than 80 criminal mischief reports of car and building windows that were shot out.

Based on information provided from a community member, police say they developed a description of a car possibly being used in the crimes.

A patrol officer located the car in the 3100 block of Forrest Avenue Monday afternoon.

The car has been impounded and investigators are applying for a search warrant.

Police have spoken to the car's owner, but believe other individuals were involved. Investigators are working to identify all the suspects.

Anyone with information on the vandalism is asked to call Evansville Police 812-436-7979 or the WeTip line at 800-78-CRIME.
