Police looking for gas station shooter

Police have identified a suspect in last week’s shooting at an Evansville gas station.

Police are looking for 20-year-old Jalin Thomas Taylor for the shooting outside the Phillips 66 station on N. Main St. May 15th.

A felony attempted murder warrant has been issued for Taylor, after 27-year-old Thendis Compton was shot “multiple times” outside the gas station.

A moped Compton was sitting on caught fire.

He was taken to a hospital for treatment, and police said his injuries were not life threatening.

The suspect – now identified as Taylor -- left the scene in a small silver car before officers arrived.

Taylor is described as a light-skinned African-American man, about 5'11’’ tall with a thin build and long afro style hair.

Police say he’s armed and dangerous and shouldn’t be approached.

If you have any information on Taylor’s whereabouts, you’re urged to call Evansville Police at 812-436-7979 or the We Tip line at 800-78-CRIME.
