People who led police to Beckerle's remains not suspects

Evansville Police have cleared some people in the disappearance and death of Aleah Beckerle.

Police said they have completed interviews with individuals who led officers to Beckerle’s remains inside a vacant house at 1628 S. Bedford Ave.

A news release from the EPD stated the persons were – quote -- “not considered suspects in her disappearance or death.”

Beckerle’s remains were found Monday evening. The Coroner’s Office confirmed the identity on Wednesday.

The disabled young woman disappeared from her home on E. Iowa St. – nearly 3 miles from the house on S. Bedford – in July.

Her wheelchair and medications were left behind.

Since the discovery on S .Bedford, many people have left flowers, balloons, candles, and stuffed animals outside the house.
