Online pirates are causing major headaches for an Evansville business.
The Better Business Bureau is reporting that Swift Athletics, located in Evansville, is the victim. According to a release, several websites have pirated the Swift address and phone number to try to gain shoppers confidence that the site is local.
The scammers try to make things tougher for regulators by taking down sites and putting up news ones on a regular basis. Swift Athletics co-owner Rebecca Paxton says the pirating started about a year ago and now they spend a lot of their time answering questions and dealing with angry shoppers who have been scammed.
